Nutter Butters

Bad economy? meh. High unemployment rate? eh. Natural disasters? pshaw. Let’s talk about what’s really important: peanut butter allergies amongst the new generation of pussies and their victimized “parents”.

Yes, gone are the days of buzz words like Dyslexia (that’s so 80’s!), Mad Cow Disease, ADD, ADHD, OCD, Autism, Bipolar and Asbergers.

NOW it’s all about peanut allergies; ironically it’s an allergic reaction to nuts. Continue reading

Chick-Fil-A is A-OKKK

Okay, here’s my take on the whole Chick-Fil-A thing: Yes, their food is cracktacular, BUT I think so many people (read “Christians”, “family values” advocates, etc.) are completely getting off track. YES there’s a thing called the First Amendment and YES, it is every American’s inalienable right to exercise it, brand it, etc. I’ve grown weary of the argument that “liberals” lay claim to the First Amendment when THEY have something to say, but when conservatives do the same, liberals call foul (no pun intended).

This whole Chick-Fil-A debacle isn’t about what was SAID, it’s about what is being DONE: An American business is using their revenue to fund intolerance & hate. That’s it, pure and simple. Everything else is a red herring. It’s not about whether you believe in/support gay marriage. It’s not about the First Amendment. It’s not about theology. It’s about PEOPLE. You either support justice for ALL… or you don’t. You either support what Chick-Fil-A is choosing to do with their revenue, or you don’t. Continue reading

‘Dear’ Isn’t Dead, It’s Just Lackadaisical

A friend posted a link to this article (Is ‘Dear’ dead?), via Facebook. Personally, I’m one of those people that still uses ‘Dear’ when I address a card, letter, e-mail, etc. I’m not really losing any sleep over how I’m perceived because of it. I think WAY too much etiquette has fallen to the wayside already; I can’t tell you how many times I haven’t received so much as a ‘thank you’ from a business after making a purchase and/or a simple ‘thank you’ for holding a door open for someone. As for the ‘Dear’ Factor, I think it’s just another excuse for people to be lazy, just like all these people (re: Gen Duh) who don’t know how to fuckin’ spell, much less use correct grammar. It’s pathetic and if they had any self-respect, they’d have the decency to feel ashamed. It’s lazy, pure and simple. As for the retard who left the comment that using the greeting ‘Dear’ has “intimate connotations”, needs to have the stick removed from her dumb ass. I swear to god people will come up with any excuse, to be perceived as profound.

The Scarlet Letter -OR- Fuck The One You’re With

*sigh* Alright, my feathers are ruffled now, so I can blog about something that permeates the online personal ads/profiles… “open relationships”.

I’ve taken issue with the concept of an ‘open relationship’ for as long as I can remember. When I first heard the term, I couldn’t wrap my mind around it: Two people who share a domicile and whom consider themselves a “couple”… yet one or other (or both) is allowed to “play”. i.e. fuck around.

Am I missing something?

That’s called ‘roommates’ or ‘friends with benefits’. It is NOT a relationship, in the sense of being a couple. A COUPLE consists of two MONOGAMOUS adults. The keyword being adults. Continue reading

Duggar Derp

*SIGH* Alright, I’ve been putting this off since before Christmas. I was initially going to title this post “Well, Kiss THAT Christmas Special Goodbye”. I chose this title because The Duggars used 2010’s holiday season to exploit their latest suckling. They were geared up to do the same last year, but, unfortunately (?) that baby didn’t make it. I put a question mark after unfortunately because maybe it was divine intervention; that baby dodged a huge, kooky bullet. Unfortunately, the public didn’t. Which brings me to this post: the exploitation of the stillborn fetus. Yes, you read correctly. Now you know why I couldn’t bring myself to post this around Christmastime. It’s both a downer on SO many levels (and those levels have sub-levels) and just a whole new plateau of ignorant.

Just an FYI before you make the jump, these pictures were pixelated on SO many sites, though I don’t find them all that shocking. However, I do find the fact that they were taken at all, much less exploited in such a gruesome way, somewhat shocking. Thanks for nuthin’, reality TV. Apparently this wasn’t enough to make the producers over at “The Learning Channel” (what exactly are we “learning” from this show?) head for the hills, since, according to IMDB, the show is heading into its 9th season. I’m all out of words to even talk about how tactless and sad this all is. Apparently “religion” can mask anything. *sigh* Train. Wreck. Continue reading

As I previously mentioned, I am enjoying Pinterest a lot lately. Not only for the great meal ideas, but also it appeases the image addict within me. In addition, I am also getting a kick out of a lot of the ‘clever’ ideas that people have come up with in regards to upcycling. “Upcycling” seems to be the new fad du jour, not unlike these people who think they discovered shopping frugally. Baby, I’ve been doing both for decades, sometimes out of necessity, most times as a creative outlet. So, though neither is necessarily news to me, I still get a kick out of some of the ideas I’ve never seen before. People can be amazingly clever and resourceful…sometimes. SOME times. Continue reading
