Just a quick post to share something I thought was too good to be true, regarding my electric bill.
A customer at work, albeit a consistently kooky one, mentioned to me a few months ago about how unplugging unused electrical items (lamps, televisions, phone chargers, etc.), when not in use, would reduce my electric bill. This wasn’t exactly news to me, as I’ve read it before in assorted articles over the years. However, it had been a while since I’d thought about it and thought, ‘What do I have to lose?’ So, I went around the house unplugging things that didn’t have to be plugged in at all times and/or things that rarely get turned on. They included two lamps in the den, my phone charger, the toaster, a radio, a TV/VCR combo and the TV in my bedroom.
Well, ‘lo and behold, when my electric bill rolled around, it was $30 cheaper! I initially wasn’t all that excited because my bill often fluctuates slightly from month to month (depending on A/C use). However, it has now been 4+ months and my bill has consistently been $30-$33 cheaper each month! I have to attribute it to the (un)plugapalooza. Give it a try!

Anyway, as I was entering the grocery store the other day, there it was: a big Snapple display! My question had been answered. Anyway, they had these ginormous cans of Grape Berry Punch for 79¢ a can, so I bought a few. Oh man! It is sooooo good! I like that it’s not carbonated. If you get a chance, try some. I am pacing myself, otherwise my blood sugar could go ballistic. Continue reading
