Coming Attractions

Alright, I’ve found a handful of upcoming movies that may entice me to venture outside. I’ve included trailers to 7 out of 10. Enjoy!

Say what you will, I love Jane Fonda. I also love Catherine Keener and do I even have to tell you how much I love Jeffrey Dean Morgan? O M G. He’s beautiful. The movie looks like a lot of fun. Can’t wait to see it.

Though I’ve never been a huge Bond fanatic, I’ve loved all the Daniel Craig installments so far (plus, I love Dame Judi Dench and Javier Bardem). This one looks like no exception. My only complaint, I wish they had done something to his ears in the movie poster. I find it distracting. Other than that, game on!

Oh man. I needed this. This movie looks like SO much fun. First off, I was really excited that some favorites are doing the voices (John C. Reilly & Sarah Silverman)! Love it! The trailer looks too great. Can’t wait to see this one!

First off, this is a very strange trailer… in a good way. It’s like a teen movie meets Hostel. It looks beautiful, but I’m afraid it’s gonna be too graphic for me. Of course that never stopped me before, but sometimes it makes me cringe. Reminds me of Donnie Darko meets May in some respects. This has cult hit written all over it.

The trailer for this Russian film is in, well Russian (duh!). Just an fyi. The movie is about sinister advertisements which not only influence your actions and desires but control them. Great concept! Very eXistenz. Looks interesting.

I really like Simon Pegg. Thsi isn’t to say that I’ve seen all his films, but I do own a few. This movie looks like eyecandy, eyecandy, eyecandy. A mix of The Science of Sleep meets Naked Lunch. I have a sneaking suspicion I already love it.

The fact that Chernobyl Diaries is “from the creator of Paranormal Activity” is so NOT a selling point, for me. I know everyone else has a boner for those movies, but they hold zero interest for me. I forward wound through the first two via NetFlix and they were just as mind-blowing as I assumed they were. However, I really like the concept for this movie and it looks promising. Only time will tell.

I dunno why, but I don’t want to like Amanda Seyfried… but dammit, I do! I literally didn’t recognize her in the role of porn star Linda Lovelace.

With Tim Burton camping out in his own ass for the last decade, I’m not too keen on watching something he’s directed. However, I think my sense of nostalgia is getting to me after seeing the poster for his upcoming Frankenweenie. The dog is a carbon copy of the dog from one of my all-time favorite episodes of the television series, Amazing Stories entitled Family Dog (available on NetFlix). The original episode aired in ’87 and I’d never laughed so much in my life! It still cracks me up to this day. So that and the fact that Frankenweenie looks dark & fun, are the reasons I am keeping my fingers crossed for this one.

It’s strange that this one came into my radar, just as I was just about to blog about how much I do NOT like Matthew McConaughey. I think the thing that reminded me was seeing the trailer for Channing Tatum’s new vehicle, Magic Mike. I’ll grant you that McConaughey has a fantastic body, but that’s all I give you. Besides 1993’s Dazed & Confused, I’ve had little to no interest in any of his films for decades. HOWEVER, I do love me some William Friedkin, so I’m willing to check this one out.
