Comments: Gay fiction is kinda scarce it seems. At least that’s been my experience. It seemed to be a little more accessible in the 90’s. I recently visited a Barnes & Noble, where they used to have a ‘Gay & Lesbian’ section. It’s now called “Women’s Studies.” whatever. ANYWAY, I looked at the two shelves it had been reduced to and 90% of it was lesbianlicious, 5% was dedicated to drag queens and/or transgender and the remaining 5% (in actuality, was more like 2%, considering there were only TWO books dedicated to the gay male; Matthew Sheppard being one of them, natch. Something for the teens to let them know “it gets better” (can you taste the sarcasm?). Naturally, there were 4-5 aisles (double sided) of “Religious Fiction” and “Christian Inspiration”, conveniently overshadowing the now defunct “Gay & Lesbian” section. I took pictures (here, here and here), it annoyed me so much.

ANYWAY, thanks to Barnes & Noble, I just ordered this via Amazon and I’m looking forward to receiving it. Hopefully it’ll be a little less gay porn than my last read (which I mainly bought because I judged the book by its cover…and it was a cheap e-book). I mean, I get it, okay? Gay men love the sex. It dominates their every waking moment. It’s just that good. Continue reading
