Synopsis: A straightforward academic review of the literature of shape-shifting; however, starting with Chapter XI, the narrative takes a strange turn into sensationalistic ‘true crime’ case-studies of cannibals, grave desecrators, and blood fetishists, which have a tenuous connection with lycanthropy. This includes an extended treatment of the case of Giles de Rais, the notorious associate of Joan of Arc, who was convicted and executed for necrosadistic crimes.
Comments: While looking for something ‘scary’ to read, I came across this one on Amazon. Werewolves have always freaked me out, and since this was free, I figured ‘why not?’ So far, it’s holding my interest. I’m still looking for something a little more contemporary, but I also enjoy reading about the origins and history of certain topics, werewolves being one of them.

A General Introduction to Psycho-Analysis by Sigmund Freud © 1949
Synopsis: This book includes 28 lectures by which Freud introduces his science of psychoanalysis.
Comments: This book has been floating around the house for a while now and I keep meaning to read it, but it never seems to happen. Now that I’ve re-embraced my solitude, I have nothing but time. I’ve always found the realm of psycho-analysis and abnormal psychology very interesting. I just hope that there’s not so much psycho babble that I lose interest.
