ggw_bach True, true (re: the full outcome of the digital age won’t be seen for a few years. Don’t write them off yet!!). However, after hearing, firsthand, things come out of their mouth, like: “What kinds of dessert do you got?”, “It’s electronical*,” and “O-M-G, his father died?” can you blame me for being highly skeptical? LOL! *I looked this up and it’s actually a word! Insane. It sounds SO wrong.

Meet Chumley
Natalee Thanks! She’s a sweetie…a temperamental sweetie, but a sweetie nonetheless.
Sarah AND my yoga cat snorts when she grooms herself. LOL! Thanks, glad to be back!
Cindi Thank you! I think I’m gonna keep her trimmed this same way, but let it grow out in the colder months.

Recent DVD Purchases
Cindi Thanks! Me too! (re: love the Ma & Pa Kettle/Charlie Chan movies) I rarely see them used, so needless to say, when I did, I had to snatch them up. We just got a copy of the Francis the Talking Mule collection in the store as well. Another favorite that I rarely see.

Anything But Weak End
Natalee Thanks! I enjoyed taking them all (re: the IKEA photos). The store in Dallas (technically, it’s “Frisco,” but whatever, it’s Dallas to me) has only been here for a few years, and I’m SO glad I finally got to experience for myself. I am definitely going back for the china hutch and the sink. DEFINITELY.

Cindi Aren’t the glasses great? They also came in a yellow/chartreuse color as well.

As for the shouting in the store, it used to be something I’d be MORTIFIED to have done (and don’t get me wrong, it was still embarrassing) in the past, but now that I’m older, I was just mini-mortified. LOL!

Flashcubes II
Natalee Thank you! One thing that has stuck with me from my college years, is that I still love photography. Well, photography on MY terms. I was never into the whole “F-stop, aperture, megapixels, etc.” hullabaloo, I just knew what I liked when I saw it and took the picture. Thanks to the portability of digital cameras these days, I can finally take pictures of the things I find interesting, without drawing a lot of attention to myself, with a ginormous camera, yet still retain the quality.

Natalee Thanks (re: my mom). I appreciate it. It’s rough, but I’ve decided to take the “There are some things beyond my control” state-of-mind, and try to enjoy my life (otherwise I’d be terminally depressed and never get to sleep). She’d want me to, and I know she had her days in the sun as well. You just have to learn to let some things go. In my case, it’s control, and that’s tough.

Natalee Yeah, it is disappointing, but it’s like that song “I can’t make you love me, if you don’t. I can’t make your heart feel something it won’t.” Sounds schmaltzy, but it’s so true. I’m just gonna have to be content with a friendship, which I’m slowly, bust surely coming to terms with. Thanks for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it.

Sarah First, I don’t see myself as co-dependent. But then maybe we have different definitions of what constitutes co-dependent. I define co-dependent as someone who’s incapable of being and/or doing anything alone for any period of time; someone who needs constant validation in the form of another person. I’ve been sans “partner/boyfriend/significant other-what have you” for 2 decades, so I don’t feel like I fall into that category, otherwise I would’ve latched on to somebody, ANYBODY by now. I was pretty content being sans boyfriend before P came along, and I’ll be okay when it’s all said and done. However, I do admit, I think I may have become dependent on having him around, since we practically see each other up to 4x a week sometimes (healthy? it’s relative). I enjoy his company (like Aunt Gladdy says in Home for the Holidays: “Company. What else is there?“), shoot me. LOL! BUT, on the other hand, it is kinda scary (for me) to get so emotionally attached to another person, since (in my experience) they usually end up leaving anyway. I’ll deal with that when it happens. All I know is that I rarely ‘click’ with anyone, thus the whopping 4 “love” interests over the years. It’s like the Haley’s Comet of connecting for me.

Second, true, recognizing character flaws is a given. If I liked every little idiosyncrasy he had, he’d then qualify as perfect and trust me, I know NO ONE is perfect…though I do come incredibly close. LOL!

Third, as far as his co-dependency goes, I dunno. He’s definitely no granola-headed ninny, but I do think he has an “it can’t happen to me” approach to life when it comes to danger, which I am hoping he will wise up to, if for no other reason, so he won’t get hurt. I think we just subscribe to different life approaches, and mine is much more Shirley to his Laverne.

Thanks for commenting, I appreciate it! 🙂

Halloween Hootenanny
Terri Oooooh, you WOULD! I’m gonna order it one of these days. It’s just got too many great tracks on it. Sorry I haven’t been around lately, I’ve just been really busy at work and then exhausted when I get home. I swear, I haven’t forgot how the IM works!

Forum Fodder
Brittany Awesome! I’m so glad you liked them (re: JitB mini burgers). I am officially addicted. And the fact that they are available 24 hours a day is just one more reason I may never be heard from again. LOL! You’re welcome! Glad you liked them. 🙂
